Our Story
Letterkenny Credit Union was set up in 1962 as community credit union and continues to go from strength to strength. We are a not-for-profit organisation and are one of the largest Credit Unions in County Donegal.
To celebrate 60 years serving this community we documented a short history of the establishment and growth of LKCU. This book also acknowledges the contribution of our founder members and successive Board of Directors, Board Oversight and staff over the 60 years.
Our Staff and Volunteers
Although the day to day management and administration of Letterkenny Credit Union is undertaken by paid staff, LKCU, in common with other Credit Unions, is dependent on local volunteers, who are elected every year at the Annual General Meeting.
The Board of Directors of LKCU, the Board Oversight Committee and the other various Committees are all volunteers who generously give their time, skills and experience to ensure that LKCU maintains its high regard, not just in the local community, but amongst other Credit Unions.
LKCU has 20 staff made up of a variety of full time and part time staff.
In addition to the Management team, positions held in LKCU include Risk & Compliance, Tellers, Loans Officers, Credit Control Officers and Accounts.
